Have you tried with any other RPG maker game? Could also be something with the Visual C++ or something similiar

Each perk has it's own token you can collect at the end of your run. That's why it will show 3/4 or 20/5. That screen is showing you all of the tokens you have along with how many are needed to unlock the next tier. The 3 or 20 is how many you have and the 4 or 5 is how many needed to unlock the next tier.

But you also need tech points to unlock those perks. This is located in your top right hand corner. Each perk spends it's own tokens but they all cost the same tech points to unlock.

If you play enough, you will unlock everything. There's no cap and it's free to reset too. So don't be stressed about buying the right or wrong perk. They're all pretty helpful.

Thanks for the info. That makes more sense, but how does one earn the stuff for a specific perk? By doing the thing associated? Like to upgrade melee damage, for example, do I collect resources to do that by killing foes with melee strikes?

To be clear, I'm not stressed about it, just confused. I go poking at the screen and see "Oh, I have three of these, great, I'll go use them on this thing instead... no, wait, wait, that doesn't work. Why?" So far I've definitely seen value in every one of those I have managed to buy. This game makes progression easy as this genre goes; it feels like every run is a success even though they're ending in failure. That's a good hook for a game loop.

Hi everyone, I'm at 92 out of 93 pages and can't figure out what the missing one is. I see that the new giant mosquito page has half of a code, did anyone figure out the other half?

As your mods grow from a couple dozen to a couple hundred, you will naturally switch to AML without people telling you to.
During my non-WOTC playthrough (with mods), I just used the official launcher. But now I use AML because as I spend more time with WOTC my mod list grew longer and longer.

Expedition you get every second cycle. It jumps between "expedition" and "prepare defences". "Envoy" you get 2 every cycle +1 extra whoever you got from event. Some events may make your envoys busy for longer.

I was about to say this. Some events may make your envoy sit out for extra turns. Took me a while til i realized why my envoys disappeared for a while
