thank you so much for the suggestions. Nothing helped :(. Even tried to verify the files and install DX from the mentioned folder. While starting via witcher.exe I got an error message (witcher application load error 5:00000065434) and found some hints how to make it running (e.g. copying the steam.exe into the game's directory).

All the same. The game is not even that old and the devs are unable to make it running on a modern computer. A drag.

Hmm just to make sure did you paste the steam,exe where the witcher exe is located. I believe it is located in " Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\System"

you might have placed the steam exe in "Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" , but not the System folder maybe ?

i didnt even notice barrier was there.

All masteries have barrier. its a core skill. I know because I am also doing a warrior/rogue. But i'm using sweeping strike with lasting sweep and siphon+ leap

did 2 into healing and 2 into reflect, if thats enough

I'm level 8, just got to the village on the island after the tutorial zone, and so far it feels like Titan Quest.

I really appreciate the fact that exploration is rewarding, as that's something I'm always looking for in an open-world/zone game.

So far, combat feels good and I'm enjoying the story. I look forward to playing more.

Maybe eventually, but the game is primarily focused on PvP. It's a small team so getting to that type of content is going to take a while.

I do not understand the hate against the update. I welcome every development of the game and imho this is a great update. The impact is not as big as you think. If you don´t overclock the chance is not that high that you have to do any heat management. Only if you encounter one of the new enemys which work with heat and even then you can beat them while ignoring heat.

If we hate against every development because it makes us learn new things the developer is demotivated to add any new stuff into the game and the development of the game will come to a halt.

If you like things as they are, just disable the auto update on the game and play it like it is until the end of times.
