did you completely fence in the meadow and barns (i.e. a closed circle of fences)?
It seems animals can move through barns and coops, but so far they never moved through my fences.

Is it just me or are longhouses kind of.. disappointing. One of our first runs we rushed the longhouse thinking it would boost population capacity massively and save space but it's rather underwhelming.. Unless you cram it full with beds. It takes a huge amount of space, it's not particularly pretty. It's rather resource intensive.

It seems better to upgrade all the resource buildings before it's viable (imo). I realize it gives better comfort and such but cottages do just fine if the food is right and they have some semblance of area beauty (forgot the term).

We try to make things a bit aesthetically pleasing so we have around 12 beds in the longhouse vs 4-5 in cottages and the upside of the longhouse just doesn't outweigh the cottages I think. I guess in fairness you can extend work hours for those living in the longhouse but it really seems like the last thing one should build. It even seems to me that building a t3 wall around the entire village is more preferable before building a single longhouse, bar maybe for the warriors and archers to min-max their training and patrolling having them sleep less.

though again, aesthetics. Doesnt feel right forcing them 16h a day working... (arbitrary high number)

am I missing something? Maybe it's required to build to unlock another building I don't recall.
