I mean, you can have a new PC and not have it enabled. Previously I had an LSI controller that needed some legacy setting, so I configured my system around that. I tried turning secure boot on last time I reformatted and there was some issue I didn't care about so I never resolved it.

Battlefield 2046 has not succeeded in making me care enough to look into it.

I can't fight the wall crusher. As long as I got matched, my game will be disconnected. Happened many times, I tried waiting inside the room, coming to the door once it's closed, restarting the game, verifying the file. Always got DC once matched.

That's paranoia, regardless, secure boot does not add a layer of control, rather a layer security, is it necessary? Not imo.

Even so, if you've already played a game with a kernel-level anti-cheat, this is nothing new, old news different spin.

To meet your paranoia half-way here, the only way they can do what they want is if laws didn't exist to stop them, and again even so, if they did do something with the control they have, if they designed it to even control anything at all, then they'd be flooded with lawsuits.
