Not alot of people are currently playing this game that's likely why. It's purely singleplayer but a definite hidden gem with a slick artstyle. I saw your other post though, it sounds like you didn't fully enjoy it. It gets pretty frenetic I get that.

I was debating another playthough as I remember some late game stuff being so mindbendingly awesome (like when you fully level up the ship, it's crazy!) and also the game audio sounding great.

Here is the thing the game is generic it cant stand on its own the story is predictable the protagonist is a formula people have grown tired of she is unappealing people have Black Fatigue and generally pretty graphics aren't going to save them especially after 10 years of development the best they could make was god of war at home.

What's the matter you don't want an entire extra hp bar of poison to instagib you out of nowhere? Yeah I hate them too. My friend couldn't even see them for some reason so I thought they were some harmless clientside animal or something lol.

How on Earth is it shameless? The game hasn't released, if they have allowed a small group to play early for feedback etc (like almost every publisher does for every game) then that's up to them.
