Hi. Sorry, I've only just found your message.

The sandbox is in the Beta Branch, but just bear in mind that the Beta isn't intended for long term gameplay, and does contain bugs and issues here and there which the devs are aware of.
The beta is ideally only intended to let people have a sneak peek at what's in development and to offer feedback and report any bugs they might encounter.

But if you're ok with all of that and don't mind a few bugs and issues here and there then you can access the Beta by going to Wrench in your Steam library, then clicking Properties, then selecting Betas, then click Beta in the drop down menu.
It'll then start installing the beta branch stuff.
Just reverse the process to go back to the Main Branch build again.

It might be worth backing up your game saves first though, just to be sure.

Noob Build Questions

I'm about to finish KM and while it was an absolute blast for the most part (the end is dragging on WAY too long for my liking), my biggest regret is my build. Don't ask, but it was purely an aesthetic choice and it basically cost me a meaningful party slot (I.e. I'm neither dps nor support nor wall, I'm just hit things worse than everyone else).

In WOTR I want to go with my usual bread and butter GS DPS, but I'd like to know the following things I plan to play on hard/between core and unfair):

1. Will a pure fighter get useful actions like trip, disarm, or anything that will actually help the team?

2. Can I be an effective fighter with an effective pet of my choice?

3. Can I be essentially a greatsword saint? Is that basically an inquisitor?

4. How dumb would it be for me to start as a class I have no interest in if I just like the trousers they'll be wearing for the duration of the game?

Hypothetically, let's say I just like the look for the rogue trousers. How badly am I shafting myself I take take:

- 1st level Rogue just for trousers
- However many in a pet class that lets me get a full grown (or at least effective) leopard
- The rest in something like fighter or inquisitor

Thanks for reading and sorry for any headaches I may have induced with my questions.

1) yes, lots of options.
2) no. The actual 'fighter' class has no pets. If you mean 'high base attack == fighter' then you can do this with several classes; the most likely is ranger. Most ranger subclass lose animal companion so beware of that.
3) 2h melee should very strongly consider the reach weapons; the fauchard is the crit weapon of the group and few drop or are sold for quite a while. The glaive drops off every other cultist and there are 2 neat ones in the intro (before grey garrison) alone. These weapons with 'cleave' can hit a group in a larger area for more damage than most aoe spells until quite late in the game.

Inquisitor can haz pet all by himself, via animal domains. The monster summoner one can be a one man army with a pet, summoned stuff, and buff spells while one of the others has sneak attack instead of the extra summoned allies.
