Ok thanks for the responses. So essentially it's up to the player to figure it via in game. Either through trail and error or quickly through cheats.

You can) When you launch the game from Steam, the A-net account will be connected. You will need to buy add-ons on the official website, not through Steam. The game will be displayed as launched through Steam.
In the game properties, in the launch parameters, write:

I'm sure it will be fun. I'm sure that the music will be spot-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥-on,
but I can't help but think something is lost. It lacks a visual style to me. BPM screenshots LOOK like BPM. The color is so aggressive that it makes first playthroughs borderline incomprehensible. With complete respect to the artists, this looks really generic. Like a very well polished starter game by a solo dev. Plus, every stage looks really bright. Seeing projectiles is going to be harder when the red bullet is the same brightness as the neon grass under it. I hope I'm wrong, and even if I'm not, I really hope the best for this game. BPM was great, if a little misguided balance-wise. A spiritual successor MUST be good.
