I'll probably agree. In the stock configuration (Wave 1), the SS would be the weakest fighter, even if you do only headshots, but now this is balanced by his most cheating ability among all classes - the aimbot arrow ) When maxed out, it simply destroys everything on the map, and when enhanced with the ability to restore time faster for kills in the distance, it becomes an ultimate.

So, this arrow needs a nerf, and the sniper's weapon should be buffed instead. Otherwise, it turns out that the same commando class can kill mobs with headshots faster than the sniper, as they have more bullets in their clip and are less likely to make mistakes.

Okay origins it is!

Is there any mods I should install? I think I heard something about some DLC weapons you need to do stuff with before you unlock them?

I'm not all that far into it so far, but it does appear that we can't totally lose. We just win less, or take FAR longer to advance. I have to say, the ability to flail about and make daft mistakes on the first play session of a game is pretty standard for me nowadays. Whenever I boot up a game for the first time, I've already written off my first session as 'learning, will start over tomorrow'. I didn't do that with HotM. My "mistakes" added depth and flavour to the game experience later, and I trusted it when it told me that screwing up was perfectly normal and not a game breaker.. At least until much later.

The message "Don't worry if you don't do well. It takes a while to get used to thinking like an AI" hooked me completely. I love a game that makes the user think in new ways. The original Prey and later Portal with it's warped space. Achron with it's time travel based RTS (as in time travel was a mechanic of a real time strategy.. You had to think in four dimensions, and 'time' was bi-directional) and this dev studio seems to like exploring non-conventional ideas. Valley Without Wind had non-euclidean space and messed up time. AI War had creative losing. I was absolutely delighted to find the time-wind in HotM. It actually gave me chills.
