I think this is why you can get quarter master on a fresh hunter now. So that you can get a small shotty yourself and prevent compound stalemate.

again, if people are getting left a lot, they are likely doing something wrong. most games i play with randoms do well. cleared an everdark gladius last night with 2 randoms on the first attempt.

Then again, trying to justify quitting in favour of the players who quits doesn't really work when the reason for quitting is always a selfish one.

its really not tho. rounds often take about an hour, and if i judge that my teamates are bad, i have no obligation to waste that much time.

This is just incorrect. Nearly every MMO I've ever played have caps in some form or another. If nothing else, they nearly all have raid timers to prevent you from farming content too quickly - on top of that, FF14 (which I played the most of after Everquest) had caps or timers (I can't remember which I just remember getting infuriated by it) on things like crafting tokens.

Just because something has a different name (timer vs cap) doesn't mean it's part of the same issue - limiting the playerbase for one reason or another.

Do I agree with having caps and timers? In some cases, I can understand having them, but it doesn't necessarily mean I agree with them existing or the way they're implemented.
