Came here just to say...Arctic Outlaws wasnt so bad. Speedline Syndicate gave me more trouble and the races were harder but doable regardless. I did it on normal. Difficulty is okay but the achievements are still bugged.

Played couple of hours, tested the hotels, no bugs for me. There's an issue (if you can call that an issue) is that we can't link the hotel rooms to the hotel loby if the loby isn't completely operable. This isn't a big issue, can just be slightly anyoing if you thought that you had linked the rooms. Thank you for working on this old game and I hope this can help !

In any case, yeah others mentioned above that if you start a new game you can customize the difficulty (make smaller enemy waves, more time between them, etc.) but I think you're asking more of a fundamental level. Unless you're building a new base from scratch, you carry over all of the stuff you unlocked from the previous 'zone'. So each new map you can control the 'pace' of the map based on how many defensive structures you build. As an example, I find a cobalt node to mine from... I can drop a source of power, build 4 walls around it, and line the insides with defensive turrets/towers.
That is the general pace you'll take since you can then expand or rebuild the walls outward until you feel comfortable. End game is just the same as early game just different sized enemy waves. Also helps that you get a 2-minute (at a minimum) heads up before an enemy wave comes in so you won't be caught off guard. You'll also be given the direction they're coming from so you can shore up defenses on a specific wall.
One of the best ways to test, is to build a small base and see how much of an attack it can hold off without you needing to jump in and man the guns.


I would also recommend downloading the Riftbreaker Demo on Steam when you're able. You can get a very definitive feel for how the full version will play out (at a smaller scale)

I've had the Defiler's Plate come up as a choice several times now, but as far as I can tell it basically has normal Plate armor resistances and then a bunch of negatives. No set it belongs to.

Am I missing something, or is it intentionally just a nerf-yourself item for poops and giggles?
