Sure, getting good is important, but the best way to win this war is to help each other rise up and learn how to fight the automaton scum.

Speaking of; while the Expendable Anti-Tank is cheap and effective, I personally like using the Recoilless Rifle as it has more ammo and can be replenished with ammo boxes.

Personally a big fan of the Quasar. While it has a charge time, it lets you stay comparatively more mobile. I can still move while pre-charging and corner peek at the last moment, and it loads on the go, so I never need to stop fighting or make sub-optimal movement decisions to manage my weapon.

Controlling the swarm is worth the 15s delay between heavy kills, and I can always just use thermites to patch the gap.

wow that really weird that it doesn't even let you join the main lobby, for me I'm still able to join and play like normal but it will just randomly boot me for no reason. It must be on bhvr's servers then because it seems like multiple people are having this issue from my research

The biggest things the DLC brings are mounts, the ability to reach level 65 (I think it's capped at 60 otherwise), and additional story. You'll probably eventually want to upgrade, but if you're at a lower level the only thing that will really matter are the mounts. BUT as some people here have already stated - if you got the game after last October, you won't need the DLC at all as all of the things that I mentioned are already available to you.
