does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

after downloading the latest patch I cant start the game as the installation run up to 100% and then I got the (53) error code. All other Steam games work with no problems. The error code popup
I get also differs from what the official error code page tells me.

Steps I have done to date:
1) Disabled all anti-virus (Only Anti-virus I have is Windows Defender)
2) Disabled Firewalls
3) Disabled all background services
4) Started in Safe

I am pulling out my hair here, would love some help...please! I have Lenovo with windows 8 and can't get Borderlands to play, keep getting an error 53. I went and checked game cache, it says 1 file
failed then it says it fixes it but either I get the error 53 or launch just fails and disappears. i have also tried to turn off firewall, no luck. Thanks in advance for your ideas...

ive heard mc affee interferes with it but i have disabled it but it still dosent work, any ideas?

as soon as game is installed i get an error code 53 popps up saying contact steam support which i have but they dont seem to be in any rush

I didn't have any crash or problem, but now the game doesn't start.
