Would you call Stormgate itself an achievement? I bet the devs wish they could load a save from before they wasted time copying WC3 creeps and hero gameplay.

hey so i use a keyboard and mouse and monitor plugged into a steam deck. how do i turn off the steam deck icons? its rlly annoying i dunno what buttons to push on keyboard

After playing for 3000+ hours. When i visit this forum I have often seen a reasoned and, in my experienced opinion, true argument in support of SF, but very, very, rarely do I see a reasoned and true criticism just "Yeah the game sucks man" or words to that effect, or eloquent prose with absolutely no factual basis whatsoever

Oh okay, so I need some rebels then. I don't find it difficult, just confusing with the mix of Celestial Empire and Russia :) All I have to do now is get some protestant rebels (HRE is protestant) and ally some electors.

Yes they've always been amazing. But DoT's and especially Soulblaze (SB) is a bit of an advanced mechanic so it's easy to do wrong unless you know how it all works.

A few basic tips:

• All DoTs have a logarithmic dmg curve, each stack exponentially increases the dmg at first, then it starts tapering down more and more the higher you go. SB does very little dmg at 4-5 stacks, but then kills horde & snipers at 6 stacks, most specials at 8-9+, most elites at 11+ or so.
  
• Because of the above, the most important thing for SB is to get those stacks up high for those breakpoints asap. Many newbies think the SB talents weak, bc they don't understand this. They are not weak.
  
• SB procs every ~0.75s iirc, lasts for 10 tics (7.5s) and then starts diminishing with each tick until there are no stacks left. Any application of SB during that time will re-stack & refresh the duration.
  
• Inferno staff caps at 15 stacks, Wildfire 4, Blazing Spirit 6 iirc, but the global cap iirc is around 31.
  
• Inferno staff applies 2 stacks on a crit, so it's absolutely 100% a crit staff and you should always spec for that with it
  
• Wildfire (talent) only spreads up to 4 stacks max per mob, so it seems weak, but that means you need less than half as many more stacks to reach most breakpoints
  
• Perilous Combustion (talent, +3 SB on everything near special+ kill) is one of the most OP talents and basically mandatory for any build in endgame difficulties. It has no cap so each kill will proc those +3 SB on everything near it up to the global cap, meaning the harder the game is, the more ridiculous your damage is going to be.
  
• Most all talents saying "killing an enemy with SB" actually mean killing an enemy that has your SB on it, it doesn't matter how you kill it melee or otherwise. The DoT doesn't have to be the one killing it. For example Warp Siphon's In Fire Reborn (10% chance for +Warp Charge per kill, if it had SB on it) is going to be proccing all the time with Inferno, and combining this with the bubble shield (especially if you also have Psykinetic's Aura (-4% CD on special+ kill) basically lets you have infinite shields with how many mobs you kill on high difficulties.
  
• Venting Shriek & Creeping Flames applies the max 6 SB at 85%+ peril. This ult, Warp Nexus (blessing), Warp Rider (talent) etc. all get stronger the higher your peril, so you tend to want to fight at a high peril if you can.
  
• Finally Empathic Evasion (1s immunity vs. ranged on crit) literally makes you immune to ranged, an Inferno staff on a crit build procs crits so fast and often you can just stand and burn and ignore the 20 gunners shooting at you if you like... just be aware it only lasts for 1s, so if you run out of things to kill or quell or anything at all you'll die instantly if you're still being fired on, so always remember to get cover first.
  
• Remember that psykers can slide & dodge while charging or firing any ability. This is especially important to learn for a channeled staff like Inferno. (you can't slide forward while firing, buy you can dodge+slide sideways which is close enough)

As usual I went a bit overboard but hope it's helpful! Oh also for Inferno staff, don't underestimate the primary fire! While it doesn't do a lot of dmg, it applies a ton of stagger and spamming it will CC a group of ragers & most everything else indefinitely.

Any news on when trading is coming back into the game?

almost all the bosses on it drop frost resistance and one drops anti dragon.
get the thing at the top.
make sure you have a fire weapon with relics boosting fire damage.

A lot of people dont know that theres about 7 or 8 bosses, all but two of which drop frost resistance. Dont do Evergoals.
