My PC turned off on its own while I was playing this mission. After I booted it again and went back into the game, I kept an eye on my CPU temp and watched it start from 90°C and gain like 1 degree per 5 seconds, until 97°C, at which point I closed the game, googled the issue and found some threads including this one.

The only times I usually have some temp spikes in HFW are loading screens (during fast travel for instance), during which I can briefly get close to 90°C. The rest of the time, I'm within the expected range with no anomaly to report.

I'm a bit worried about the fact that this issue still exists in June 2025 when evidently it was known more than a year ago already. Especially if other zones are subject to it like some users have warned. I kinda want to put the game aside until it's fixed, but I hope they *are* gonna fix it.

There is not much to fix really. Some areas or missions are more CPU demanding.

It's up to us to have sufficient cooling for our components. My 7800x3d never reached more than 74 degrees in this game for instance even with 100% load during shader comp.
This is with a Noctua NH D15.

They are not going to gift you the next game, lil bro. It's not normal for an area to be 6 times more demanding than the rest.

Great update！I hope there will be door curtains, more decorative paintings (it would be even better if I could customize files on my computer as decorative paintings, but I can accept it if I can't upload them online for others to browse), more snacks, and pet supplies like fish tanks or hamster cages. That way it would have more of a lifelike feel.

No, every enemy in Dark Ages can be killed with every weapon.
The game does still encourage the use of different weapons, like blue plasma shields that explode when hit with plasma, and heating up enemy armor before breaking it. That said, there's many different options to quickly break armor, like the shotguns, chainshot, flail, etc. I find that satisfying. But overalll Dark Ages is way more "play how you want" than Eternal.

Instead of enemy weakspots, you probably won't like the emphasis on parrying. Some enemies like the Agaddon Hunter, Cosmic Baron, and the final boss Ahzrak attack you with multiple melee swing in a row and are essentially impossible to beat unless you can parry repeatedly. You can make parrying very easy, but it can still feel a bit annoying that certain enemies lock you down and demand you parry them over and over if you want to stay alive.

Double barrel only gameplay goes crazy. Only weakness is demons who are deadly close range, forcing you to falter them with parries. But still very doable.
