when you start you get the system playing recordings on why the blueprints are locked, story wise that made sense. then finding out later you have to deal with recipes that require itself to unlock makes no sense at all from a story perspective.

you are there, sent to pay off your dept, this wasnt a voluntary thing, it wasnt a choice or a golden opportunity, its a sentence. and the companies you send stuff to to pay off your dept make huge profits on it because they evade taxes, import rights and a host of other things as they mention in another recording.

why would they send you with a mission dead end? "well, you can make us tons of money and you need to pay of a huge dept or prison sentence, or both, and these machines cost us a ton of money and nda's, etc, but were going to jeopardise the mission by leaving it up to chance, to make it more exiting, we have no clue if the missing items are on the planet at all!" could you imagine those corpos saying that? i mean, there isnt a live-stream for corpo entertainment..

so its only there to force you to explore, but why? people explore anyway..
its cheesy and annoying.

ive found all the items except super magnet, ive uncovered everything.

the game is good for the first 20 hours, after that its a case of set commission, tab out for completionist sakes. its a play test so all of these issues can be purely for testing purposes, including the forcing people to go out there part, but that is still lame, let people play the way they want to and allow multiple paths to progression. anything thats forced looses its appeal, and progression locked behind randomness sucks, and recipes that require itself to unlock is a no-no. and it colors the whole experience when you wasted your time exploring the whole map for that one item and its not there.

our time is valuable, even if we choose to spend it enjoying games, its still hours of our finite life. and while playing games is fun, chasing an elusive carrot on a stick is not.

anyway, good foundation for a game, but there is lots to improve, as would be expected.
