The game is going to be so much better if they introduce mod support, but atm they won't because it will cut into their revenue. Paying $5 for some trrees when some guy in his basement could make this mod in a few days solo. And with mod support people could add whatever they want to the game in record time instead of waiting years for something as basic as trees xD

The reasons for no mod support are clearly given in multiple posts. Being able to sell DLC's is not one of them.
I think with mod support you'll find that people wanting to mod the game will run into the same technical difficulties as the devs do when trying to implement certain things. Curious to see how that basement dwelling theory will hold up. :-)
