I was doing 6-7 floors of hard mode with just random 50 lvl units, so 5 floors are still managable. But it took hours to do.
Now I have a partialy completed burn team and its still hard, but takes less time. Like much much less.
I'd recommend to take poise ego-gifts and to get ego-gifts that give ego resources

There a lot of EGO spamming or such? My bleed team tends to get through normal without too much issue.

The difference between normal and hard is massive, my boyfriend talked about seeing a 10k health boss once. Twas nelly. (I had to double check with him)

If you mean an actual Free City, a city who was founded by a civilization but has lost all of its Loyalty and is currently independent, that will automatically join a civilization after a time: if you have the most influence over them, they will just join you for free.

If you actually mean a City State, a city that has never been part of a civilization, and whom you can trade and send Envoys to, then conquest is probably your only option to take it, as outlined by everyone else. Given your description, I would guess you are referring to a City State, as a civ would presumably not be able to get their settler to that location.

I tried to lure an npc to this base but he kept leashing back, this isnt easy u need to take notes and use skills at certain times. - And I have no npc near, but sometimes 4 guards spawn when a downed orni spawns, u have to lure one of those up the base. The base doors are all set at 5 xD

There are multiple techs. Just kiting the enemy rarely works, you should have compel, grav grenade and shiga wire equipped and using a combination of the 3 you can lure an NPC further, much much further than they would naturally run. Additionally, if you can use those abilities to move them over something that prevents them pathing to their home you can lure them almost indefinitely.

LOL. That is so wild you figured that out. I mean, obviously you've done it. Just because Funcom ♥♥♥♥ the bed when it comes to figuring out how to make bases decay. What a mess.

the only thing the modern controls are good for in this game is combat. the platforming requires a few degrees of precision. the original controls have aged perfectly with this game considering it was designed around them.

There is nothing the modern controls do that tank controls can not (and well... vice-versa,obviously).

The good thing of modern controls at combat is to circle around enemies and it is very possible with tank controls too, harder to pull off but it is.

Pointing out fallacies, lies, and inaccuracies isn't breaking any rules. So's long as it adheres to the ToS.

Certain people have a hard time understanding one thing:

Antagonizing someone's opinion isn't antagonizing the person.

Some people take personally their opinions being challenged because they understand they're the ones being challenged.

It's as you often say, play the game/ball not the man. But it's just easier to blame other users or "corrupt moderation" than just accept Steam has a zero tolerance policy for certain behavior.

Hence the drive to push the narrative that not letting someone control the narrative of a thread is bad, or to push that "moderation is incompetent" merely because they're not allowed to call someone names.

Hell, last action on my account was in Jan or Feb and it was a pair warning + 24 hour ban. To which I replied "My bad, I'll try better next time".
