Why AML?

@Bilaterlrope-after writing this, I came to the conclusion that you're not reading what I'm writing. You asked questions that were already answered in my previous post. You're either reading what you want to see, misinterpreting what I am saying to set up an argument without basis (putting words "in my mouth"), or not calmly reading it before flying at your keys. I

I was going to delete all of my responses below, but I'll leave them and maybe this time you'll read them calmly.

Yes. You are
You are talking about a problem that does not exist for people using the AML launcher. Because the AML launcher provides an environment that means less work for the mod makers. So you are demanding extra work for the people who still use the less popular, and less useful, launcher.
No, I am not, expecting modders to fix mods to work with 2KL, and show where I said this.

Again, you are failing to comprehend what I am saying. Reread my explanation.

Postat inițial de Bilateralrope:
You are also demanding that mod makers work for free because they usually aren't paid.
Again, just no. Grandstand all you want, they made the mod for free in the first place (barring they weren't commissioned).

It would be like free chicken at a grill out that's been undercooked. It's not completely safe to eat, so normally there would be an expectation that the cook grill it a bit longer for it to be edible.

Being a free product doesn't take away from that, any more than the expectation of F2P buggy games. They're free too, so nobody should downvote if those are buggy to by your logic.

Postat inițial de Bilateralrope:

Where are you getting the idea that your way is the correct way from ?

Expecting modders to provide indefinite, free, support for all their mods is unreasonable on your part. Even if they are still around.
Not really sure what you mean here. i assume you mean "people should fix what they make" or "people should finish what they start", and yes, I do believe that. If the world was filled with people who think like you, ♥♥♥♥ would never get done (or done right).

But I can tell you're not reading, actually reading my post. Because I said "if they moved one and haven't been modding, fine". People get busy, married, kids, career, and along with that, modders play new games and mod those.

I literally said (and I hate to repeat myself to those who don't read) that modders who still mod the same game should fix their recent stuff if it has code errors due to them

Postat inițial de Bilateralrope:
Especially if we are talking about mods that worked fine until the 2K launcher broke them, the modders aren't at fault. That's all on 2K to provide proper support for a game they published and we all paid for.
Again (repeating myself) I AM TALKING ABOUT MODS THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE 2KL OR THE AML. I only mentioned the AML in a positive fashion, saying it flagged the errors on the mod, I had to fix those errors myself, That has nothing to do with the 2KL, so I hope (really hope) you read that this time.

Postat inițial de Bilateralrope:
A better thing to do would be to check the last updated date on the mods. What kind of timeframe are we looking at here ?
Actually read the topic post I wrote. I said what process I go through to compile a good working mod list. I do my homework, read past post, and pay attention to dates/abandoned mods. I avoid Vanilla/LW dependent mods and stick with those listed for WotC, though some not listed as such have worked. I am not new to modding games.

And nothing worse playing a modded game than getting deep into a modded game and then it borks, hence my argument for modders fixing bad code when it should be working properly (granted if they are still around and making mods for the same game). And that has nothing to do with a launcher when its bad code errors.

Yeah it exist to actively promote *checks notes* "inclusion and diversity". THE ABSOLUTE HORROR! D:

They have to exist because people like you exist :) Also ultimately I do not care about this culture war nonsense you AND this company is involved in. You are both sides of the same coin of diversion. The world you live in is manufactured by the same interest groups and corporations you think you are exposing. They control the algorithms that feed you your hate, they are all lead by billionaires that do not care for you or the other side.

Its fundamentally the same everywhere. People who have been dominant once, fear equality. For to them equality is paired with a loss of status, hierarchies and self. Their little safe spaces (gaming) are evolving as well and so they get loud, obnoxious, aggressive and threatening over it. A tale old as time. Your grip is slipping and you are scared. Thats it.

The "agenda" you all fear so much is to make our society more equal and inclusive for those that have been historically discriminated against or forced into rigid hierarchies and you hate that of course. But no one cares anymore. The world is not going back. You will have to learn to stop being scared someday. :)

Neither Sweet Baby Inc nor you are part of the real world though. You live a terminally online life and think it real. Which is great because that too will pass and with it you will become obscure again.

What a crock. You claim not to care, immediately after revealing that you do, in fact, care. Then, after saying you totally don't care about this "culture war nonsense", you immediately go back to caring a lot about it by openly admitting to being here as an invader, whose sole purpose is to despoil and destroy. After which, you again claim you don't really care. The rest is just mired in complete insane dogma, because you are basically the same as a cultist.
You realize we know what you are, right? We knew already, but you also just told us in plain English what your intentions are, and that they're nefarious from the start.
If you're not trolling, this is a legit schizo take. If you are trolling, you're being too obvious.

Man, Stellaris is so disappointing. I'm glad I hopped off this gravy train back when the overpriced disappointment that was Overlord came out. I was hoping 4.0 would fix it all, but alas, it would appear not. They're still bugfixing 4.0 months after it initially came out, and it still doesn't seem like a good time to come back to Stellaris after 2+ years (literally last played in June, 2023, and that was a short little play session, the last time I truly played Stellaris was all the way back in 2022).

And in all that time, the only thing that they made that seems worth a damn was Machine Age.

Not even the temptation of POTENTIAL performance improvements entices me overmuch. I've since gone through a PC upgrade, going from an extremely old 8th gen i5, to a 9800X3D, but with the 9800X3D, I could probably run 3.14 fine. So any "4.0 performance improvements" are irrelevant to me, if they even exist (which is in contention).

Honestly, the fact that running 3.14 sounds more appealing than trying to run 4.0 and "missing out" on all the overpriced DLC is as much of an indictment as it gets. The only reason I don't is because I enjoyed running Stellaris with mods, and trying to run an older version of Stellaris with mods is annoying. I remember back when 2.0 came out, and I hated it, but I had to stick with it because mods updated for it. Not many created a fork to keep 1.9/1.8 compatibility.

What truly killed my interest, though, wasn't performance, but when Astral Planes was being announced, and everyone ate that announcement up, and Paradox were hyping 4.0 like it'd fix everything. Well, since I hated Astral Planes (and the fanbase's seeming-idiocy at its super-awesome-amazingness in the lead-up to launch), I've been waiting for 4.0. And no, I didn't buy/play Astral Planes (I didn't need to to know it was ♥♥♥♥). I just hated what it represented regarding Stellaris so much, and what it showed for its future, that I just left. The signs had already long since been building up, but Astral Planes broke the camel's back.

The fact that Utopia remains peak Stellaris, is a massive joke.

Maybe 5.0 will actually get me back. Maybe.

If stellaris isn't your cup of tea anymore because they expanded the game in direction you didnt like that's okay, there's other space 4x games out there that might fill your cup. But in my opinion each expansion brings a new light to the galaxies that we play in and new challenges that must be over come. Just yesterday I spent 9 hours playing when I meant to only play 3. Got lost in the game as you will. Stellaris is a massive game and at times it either attracts people or pushes them away. Maybe in the coming expansion it will bring you back who knows. Guess its just waiting and seeing if they add the content you want or not.

You obviously weren't listening to a word I said, if you think I don't like the "direction of Stellaris". When I said that, it was in clear reference to Astral Planes, a DLC almost universally called undercooked and overpriced.

Which is to say, Stellaris' DLC continuously being overpriced and undercooked, and having people, like you, defend it regardless, and not demand the quality we deserve, for the price we pay, is what drove me away.

Thanks for proving my point by defending Astral Planes and 4.0.

I'll come back when Stellaris doesn't think having broken AI for multiple months is acceptable, or selling overpriced, undercooked DLC while the game itself is struggling to be played by what seems to be half the playerbase.

I, unlike you, clearly have some actual desire to hold Paradox to account.
