Any other updates? I had the issue all last night and still am this morning. I can sometimes get in on my laptop, but my desktop on Ethernet has never been able to connect since the issue started.

I've tried disabling firewall, manually changing IP and DNS, reinstalling, etc, to no avail

I've been playing the Steam version for over a year now and this is the first time it's happened to me. And it also happens to be the opening of the Moonfire Faire. And it also is right after a major patch that has players excited again after many of them have been complaining about the game. Compared to recent activity over the past few months, the servers are getting relatively slammed.

It has me wondering if this is Steam's version of Square's login "The server is full" issue except Steam and Square just can't manage the unexpected traffic graciously. Too many connections attempted at once and Steam has no login queue for Square's requests to validate accounts.

For people who have experienced this in the past -- is this a random thing or does it pop up most often around events like this?

This is not a massive multi-player game where you can change things left and right. It's single-player, if game is censored after release people who bought it are practically scammed. If one country is mad about game then ban it or make a region specific version.

Dude, get a Playstation. Yakuza games go on sale constantly. I got the package with Yakuza 0, Kiwami 1 and Kiwami 2 for $10.
