Companions do not look appealing at all.

I don't know how exactly in the power level scaling where going to go with Dark Heresy but if we follow the habit of Owlcat themselves we won't stay an Acolyte for very long.

I think we're going to start as one but we will become ourselve our own Inquisitor and with that in place well the power scaling go way up and allow everything and anything as companion since "we" choose no ?

Yeah, I just don't think they are interested on keeping things that low level for long in Dark Heresy or else we wouldn't be fighting The Night Lords as our antagonists.

Yeah I figured that would probably be the case. Just going by the companions alone I think it's safe to say this will be more of an 'Ascension' or W&G type campaign. I'm not sure if I've said in this thread but I know I've said elsewhere that my ideal DH game wouldn't see you become an Inquisitor until the final chapter (or part way through the second game if in a trilogy).

I understand why some players wouldn't like being some other guys mook/pawn for most of a game but it's appealing to me at least anyway.
I enjoy the earlier and mid stages in many crpgs more. And being the subordinate of others or even pawn in their own plans is more interesting role playing wise. The potential balance between freedom and restrictions or pressure is ironically more interesting than total freedom. I also feel like many arcs are progressing far too fast. One second your are a nobody and the next you fight some greater demon. Would be cool, if a story was planned with a sequel in mind and you have a longer journey, with a more grounded initial arc and the extremer stuff is the pay off in a sequel or so. I will probably play it regardless, though.
