Did anyone see that 'short' (someone posted in another thread),

it's clear Criansoft's been putting in tons of work on Chronicles,

and all people did in here was trash the guy like he's living large off his measly 1000 bucks a month patreon and 'doing nothing'.

People should be ashamed of themselves for trashing a dev like Criansoft,

does anyone know how hard it is to make a game?

There's a reason all (even 'AAA') devs resort to using garbage engines like Unreal 5 etc,

even with the bad (horrible running) results they still prefer that to having to make a game with any kind of excessive difficulty,

This guy's games are pieces of art, not just 'games' (as the trash shovel-ware you typically see on steam),

that takes an insane amount of work and it seems like _very_ few people realize how hard that is to make.


I just seen that 'short' that person put up in the other thread, I can't believe how much this game reflects _EXACTLY_ the type of game i wanted to make myself for my whole life,

and yet as much as I wanted to make 'Mythical', Frazetta-style games every time I even began trying to use a game engine I had to give up knowing even if I spent 5 years doing nothing but working on that game I would be lucky if I had anything barely playable to show for it.

There's a reason there's like 20 000+ games released on steam every year and they're almost all 99.9% total cookie-cutter garbage -

because something 'real', unique, amazing and "awesome" takes a f-ton of work, skill and dedication to do.

Give this guy a break, to think some have even called him a 'scammer' (after all the awesome games he's made already) is beyond belief,

words cannot express what should be told to such people and I would never say them because then I'd be permanently banned off steam forever.


That said,

I will say that there could have been probably a little better 'publicity' in his progress regarding the game,

I remember he was putting out fairly frequent updates on his patreon before (I had to cancel a year ago but will rejoin soon),

but I think he trailed off on the updates and maybe that was part of the problem.

I think as a game dev I would want to update a game probably 2-3 months at least to make sure people know I am still working on it.

However, I also know (pay close attention here folks..) that unless I have my own 'P.R.' department (which he doesn't),

I know that any little thing I would try to do _besides_ focusing on actually making a game,

would be extremely annoying and time-wasting to me.

Gamers don't realize how hard it is to make a game and any little think you feel forced to have to do (besides working on the actual game) is extremely distracting and time-wasting,

People need to realize when and if someone is totally 'into' making a game they would put off anything possible just to get to concentrate on every little thing in that game-making process,

even having to post 'updates' takes time and annoyance and I could easily see how he wouldn't have wanted to be bothered by that while working on the game.

Give the guy a break, if he comes out with something that's 'half' of what I hoped to play for my entire life ever since playing Golden Axe,

This guy should be getting a Nobel Prize --

and that's not even close to being a joke because any real 'Guy' nowadays who remembers life before it became all 'politically correct',

knows there was a time when movies, games and the media was 'Mythical' and often times had that ability to transport you into that amazing 'awesome' world where Men were Strong and Adventures were Epic and Wondrous.


That time is 'no more' and only a very few people like Criansoft knows (and acts) to bring that Sacred Part of a Guys Psyche into the 'real world',

you need to be supporting him in any way possible instead of trashing him like he's just coming out with another cash-grab shovel-ware game.

The beta is broken for westville, you have to use "setregionunlocked westville" in console to unlock the first customer. It's because the territories require cartel presence to lessen to unlock, but since there isn't supposed to be any in westville it's permalocked.

Please keep bugs to the beta branch sub forum so this doesn't get flooded with questions that have been answered 1000 times before. Also please look in the forum before posting a new thread that has already been made.

In general, if a game attracts me, I try to pre-order it, but if it does not live up to my expectations - I have already paid the money, the work (whatever it was) is done by the developer

I do not want to slide into comparisons like "If you ordered food for 60 bucks and you did not like it, will you run to demand a refund?"
And in the context of "did not like" I do not mean its quality, but your taste preferences

Thread necromancy here. I am having the same issue. When I turn in the contract, it never gets acknowledged, and I am stuck in an endless loop of 0/2 contracts completed. Any assistance would be most appreciated.
