Also, we had a random power outage at my house last night, shutting off all electronics. Rare scenario that it is, I wouldn't want it to happen while trying to update my BIOS.

You could be interesting as something that you add at the start and at the end of the main campain but it's going tò be something that most people would brush off since it's a sandbox game...
... In my opinion he main appeal is the concept and adding lore would add nothing of value
