Not impossible, but low. Usually i'll have either Double A's or an S in speed.

That's just more reason not to waste stats. Guts diminishes in returns really early on whereas speed/pwr have no actual fall-off and guts is inherently dependent on stamina's value because of how it currently works (if you have 0 stamina at the final spurt, guts isn't going to do much to fix that)

It sounds now like you are an excellent player who ran across a kind of enemy you did not like at all. I promise, if you continue, you will run into much worse

Of course, as a new player, you did not know exactly what to prepare for. Do not beat yourself up over that or feel you need to spend boring time doing repetitive grinding or using any of the many cheats available to players.

FYI, when I have a Priest in the party he or she always (in games so far) takes both Armorplate and Magic Screen with other characters casting other bufs as well. You mentioned the Poppy hitting for 30 HP. With Armorplate at a decent power level you can mitigate that, a bit. Enchanted Blade can help you hit but your weapons are going to miss a ton early in the game. Develop the skills and relevant attributes early. It is much worse on Expert difficulty that most of us regularly posting here play.

Shake it off and dig in. You will not regret it.
