Running some old games on Windows 10 is a patchwork. Saying they work just fine is dishonest.

All I did was run the installer for Deer Hunter 2 -> clicked play game -> game played with zero issues. No patching. No "patchwork". No modifications. It just ran fine. It seems to me like some people just don't know how to configure windows 10 which leads to them thinking that things don't run on it.

The game only auto temp-bans you if you abandon the match. Abandon and leave are not the same thing functionally in the game, you cab reconnect if you leave or get disconnected for 5 min tops, but cannot reconnect if you abandon.
To have received a ban for disconnecting for the game for 5 min tops and coming back, someone would have had to report you for leaving, which has process time.

I think you rage quit and abandoned the match.
Your qualifying remarks are suspicious. You don't need to justify an undeserved ban, if your service provider screws you over that's enough, you don't also need to be an angel from heaven who's Jesus second coming and everyone loves you.

I’m not the type to get mad at pixels on a screen never had a ban for toxicity in my whole life I game to have fun with my homies I can’t see anymore due to distance or casually game to occasionally meet some cool people and have a good strategic game. I just don’t type much I’m more of a talker.

Yeah it’s really stupid. What I would like is when you click play; you’re given an option to play a single player variant or the normal version. Like how some games allow you to pick between the remaster and the DOS version (like DOOM 1&2).

I'd personally prefer that they do away with the anticheat system entirely. We didn't have anything of the sort back in prepare to die edition, but we managed just fine thanks to community tools like the PvP watchdog program that automatically detected any cheaters in your world and then gave you the option to boot them out whenever you felt like it. Realistically, all the lack of an official anticheat system meant in practical terms was that hackers couldn't abuse it to get you banned by dropping hacked items for you to pick up. I've no idea why they thought the current system would be preferable to what we had then.

Yeah that’d be better. I’ve never used a mod once before (and I was a console gamer until 2023) so such things are still foreign to me lol
