Satisfying gaming is all about the replayability and creating purposeful achievements. Rather than aimless wandering that ultimately feels pointless.

In my +130 year village, I'm happy about new content because it always gives me new goals, of course, and new quests would also be a nice way to pass the time.

In contrast to that, however, I find that more quests are anything but beneficial for replayability. When I start a new village project, it's usually not to do all the quests again, but because I want to build something specific or because I want to face a particularly difficult challenge. Repeating the quests once or twice may still work, but the more/longer the quest series and the more times I've already restarted, the less motivating it sounds to me. That's why I've made myself an “all important quests finished start save”, and I've also read something like this from others from time to time.

What I just wanted to say: more quests do not necessarily promote higher replayability.

And wandering aimlessly is the best starting point for creativity and initiative and usually ends up with me doing something I have a real intrinsic motivation for, rather than reacting to something the game asks me to do.

In the +130 years I haven't even finished all the Crest dares, because I tend to look for my own tasks, so I would even have official game content left over that I can work through.

In Chapter 9 for Teacher (not sure of others) Peta (an orphan) gets into the Plague ward and gets a boil on his arm. I have found out how to fix it by other threads on this form.

Is helping him related to the achievement where you adopt an Orphan? - also is that achievement Gender locked?

Is there a way to get for less then 15 coin? Is there anything the kid helps with later that is worth it other then just being a good person?

Also if you treat him in the School room - you get -8 rep with Workers, but not sure who from that group are close enough to hear him scream. The MC is applying Medicine. So not sure about that rep loss. I get it if it was on the streets, however :)

Yes, it is a pitty - but I think the "Schadenfreude" comes from a right now pretty well established pattern that can be observed in many other studios as well, be it Arkane, Rocksteady, Monolith, MachineGames...
These are studios with a reputation for their successfull and beloved single player games. Then some execs get overconfident and greedy, force them to make other stuff, like live service looter shooter nonsense (or follow other strange "Zeitgeist" trends), fans are worried, tell them to not go that way - but they don't listen. And fail. Some actually over and over again with games getting completely canceled, flopping or just not working the way they were intended and taking ages to get released. All that when they could have made much more money just sticking to what they knew and were good at. And I think that's where the "Schadenfreude" actually comes from.

It's not easy to do, it's the issues on new games Mafia 3, GTA 5, Watchdogs 2, etc This has been an ongoing issue, not the manufacturers
