This argument doesn't hold water, because the developers have also added a branch on Steam to revert to the previous version.

I don't understand this dumbing down: the developers are doing a good job, and the players are criticizing them. If you don't want any more updates, you might as well NEVER play any games.

Updates are always a good thing. Not only do they add more content, but they also fix bugs at the same time.

A lot of players don't deserve to be able to give their opinions.

Why don't you just change your name to "I work for wc", truly sad. And just fyi, I can't even download the new update because it keeps pausing, Snails broke my single player game just to make me play a game my pc won't push anymore THANK TO ALL THE UPDATES!!!

If you can't download the update, I suggest you check your internet connection, as that's what's causing your problems.

I advise you to do your research next time before accusing a game that has nothing to do with it.

Nope. People were shout chatting their mare codes to private sync-shells like the absolute morons they are. Now SE to sending the C&D to the creator themselves. People who have been using Mare have gotten so comfortable openly speaking about third-party mods that this was the inevitable end result.

Yoshida has said in the past that if you don't speak openly about mods they'll live and let live. Obviously, people have lost the memo and now those same people are openly flaming the XIV Bluesky and Twitter accounts for the C&D.

If so then why only now instead of doing so in 2022, 2023, 2024 or early 2025?

Mare was an incredibly popular plugin that its effectively the default tool to have if someone does RP in this game and I certainly imagine that SE knew about its existence for years but was forced to act when the laws have forced them to do it so XIV will be able to continue operating in the UK and so on.

Its nice of you to offer but I can really only stomach this game with my friend. Only time I'm going to bother playing since I dislike the game in general. I came in thinking it was heavily stealth based, tried it that way, sometimes it works but a lot of the time its kind of a miserable experience with too much BS for my taste. I'll try another way of playing but thus far running about has been equally bad.
