That one isn't going to be tied to any quest currently in the game so it's your choice to smash it or leave it. If you do smash it, it will remove the current psi field around it and your brain (as well as any passing NPC) will be much happier for it.

I always smash them on sight, even though I'm totally a sympathiser for why they did what they did.

Please don't check the pressed key by the character, but by the keycode. I don't want to have to switch my keyboard layout every time. Or at least let us rebind the grid keys.

CM2 gets inconsistent performance particularly visually not because of poor performance or its Engine but because is an OpenGL 32-bitness application and better video hardware often actually cause poorer video performance because of the lack of OpenGL support

For same reasons, counter intuitively higher video settings usually result in better video performance because lower settings effectively fallback on older methods that perform still worse

Careless packaging of modifications by their authors then indirectly exacerbates this largely because of the 32-bitness and all of the addressing and resourcing limitations derived from that

Configuring external settings like the intel graphics applet or nvidia control panel are much better options than fiddling with the game settings or visuals replacements
