100% restart. There have been changes to early game in last 3 updates. If your not playing it on the current version from the start...... you actually do not know what the game is like(on the now). If you have not had to kill a bear in BF with meadows weapons you have not played Valheim yet. It is literally a new run or die situation that anyone who does not restart will not be able to enjoy. :+)

If you have not done cooking after Black forest since bogwitch, you havent played Valheim yet. Wether the changes are good or bad (objective), the valheim we all played for 4 years ago (or even a year ago )is now just history.

So if you are a true fan.... and expect to play a bunch of valheim start another 100% new game with new character. If you plane on only playing valheim ONE more time........ wait for 1.0.

Fix Arbites buff bug where if you get 45 buffs the game will hardcrash, i've been booted out of 5 aurics now because of your ♥♥♥♥ ups. You should not have to rely on the community to fix your mistakes.

Unfortunately Fatshark is ass and the playerbase is quicker to fix these bugs than official devs. There's a mod to fix the DC called "Temporary Buff Bar Fix" which should fix it for now.

It's incredibly VRAM intensive, 1440p ultra 60 cap and I was sitting at just over 13GB of VRAM utilization, so skimpy 8GB (too many Nvidia and cheaper AMD) cards will struggle. I haven't gotten to snow yet, just the first few areas.

It uses less than 6GB on my 8GB RTX 3060 Ti. MSI Afterburner claims ~5.7GB allocated but less than 5GB being processed. That's at 1440p ultrawide, 50% scaling* with everything else set to ultra. Framerate averages between 45-55 in the area I'm playing in right now, Sacred River, which I think is the heaviest area in the game? It's the area where I've observed the heaviest framerate drops that is.

*The game appears to have separate scaling for fullscreen on and off ( though I don't think it actually works when fullscreen is off?) You can see it switching between them if you set the scaling differently under fullscreen on and off. On my system, the framerate will drop into the 20s if I have fullscreen on and set to 100% scaling, even if I then disable fullscreen. So I set scaling to 50% with fullscreen on, then switch to fullscreen off and leave it at 100% scaling. I guess that's why the resolution is labelled "window size" and scaling is labelled "resolution" then. :\

I don't think it's all that VRAM heavy but it's certainly hungry for GPU power. PresentMon suggests that the bottleneck in my system is the GPU while running the game.
