The optimization is disastrous, first game that runs so badly, I have an RTX 4070 SUPER OC and I fall to 30 framerate, a shame for a game so graphically poor. Can't you implement Frame Gen please? Just to play without a headache.
+1 For optimization complaints as well. But the issue isn't GPUs, despite how many people saying "I have XYZ card and can't run this!" I've seen. It's CPU, because it's using just one thread of your X threads allotment. Multithreading has become so commonplace that we take it as a given in every new title, and while I think it should be, it's just not the case here. The bottleneck is in the processing, not the displaying.

There's a website if you google it that wrote an extensive testing results article about this. I'll quote their article "Almost every system in the game — NPCs, weather, seasons, plant growth, day/night cycles, dialogues — works through Unity MonoBehaviour, that is, on the main thread. When time of day changes, dialogues are launched, or events are activated, the game simultaneously recalculates many parameters — NPC trajectories, material changes, inventory updates, object generation. All this creates intermittent load on CPU, causing drops and freezes, even when there is nothing visually complex in the frame."

Put simply, it's not fully utilizing the hardware you have, just a single sliver of it, and your GPU isn't shouldering most of that load.

If you're reading comments at all, thank you for making an adorable, fun, and very pretty little Hobbit world game for us. I know it's tough work beyond measure to create games to begin with. I'd (and I'm sure many others would) much appreciate if consideration could be given to optimizing further such that the game utilizes the hardware people have. Unity can be modified to use multithreading, and many games running on the engine have done it successfully. It's worth investing the time to do so to make the game as great as it can possibly be, and allow the game itself to shine like I imagine you want it to.

it's literally one of the most chill, best games I've played in a hot minute, if they can get these optimisation issues resolved, they've got an award worthy game on their hands, if not, well...
