Buddy, who you find easiest is going to hugely depend on your personal playstyle. Adel was the easiest for me, even on a guardian. The reason people like ED Fulghor is that he actually changed his fight without throwing in gank squads for the sake of being harder.

I can’t believe we still have to explain this to people, the git gud crowd has such brain rot these days. Something being difficult doesn’t inherently make it good, just as something being easy doesn’t inherently make it bad. A difficult fight that is good involves adding complexities that the player can engage with well, without the introduction of extremely unfair mechanics. One of the reasons why dark souls 2 was so poorly looked back upon is because a huge part of its design was “let’s just add more mobs to it.” Yes that makes it more difficult, no that does not make it more fun.

Adding in NPCs with input reading and infinite stamina/magic is not fun gameplay, even if you enjoy PvP in fromsoft games you’re not honestly going to tell me you would prefer an npc that clearly cheats over a player. It’s lazy, it’s boring, and people defending it just show how the only thing they care about is their epeen rating how they tackled the thing others couldn’t. (And before you comment, yes I did beat it, on trios)

You know what else is difficult? Let’s increase the boss’ health by 1000%. It’s harder then, so obviously that’s a good change, right? If I invented a game called Coin Souls, where the win condition was flipping a coin and getting heads 50 times, that’s very difficult to pull off. You’ll excuse me if I don’t believe anyone say they’d think that’s an actually fun game.

They should have focused on Libra imposing stricter deals on players, and worked around that. Nothing about Libra’s lore, who is entirely around presenting a balance, indicates that he’d be totally fine just throwing out more people to fight you with no benefit to you. (No the madness bubbles are not even remotely an equivalent “benefit.)

Past gank bosses in the franchise were met with indifference or genuine hatred, but Libra is the shining beacon amongst them all somehow? Is it purely because he's unique when solely looking under Nightreign's context? Gluttons for absolute chaos, regardless of difficulty design opinions? Hidden closet masochists?

Personally, I walk into Everdark nightlord's expecting how much it changes the base boss. All that's given for ED Libra is forced deals given to the party and NPC summoning. The latter isn't all too different from Looking Glass Knight or Halflight. The former is a good enough gimmick to Libra's whole deal. Said deals are nothing game changing to the boss fight, just a mild inconvenience at best.

I can understand some folks desire to not want a typical Souls boss where you just dodge and wack. But are our expectations that minimal we praise an NPC gank fight? Where all our attention is on the NPCs a vast majority of the fight? Really? Of course under the context you participate in the multiplayer and you don't go solo. For all the bad rep the community gave to ED Maris, Caligo, and Sentient Pest, at least they focused on the root, y'know the boss itself?

Some always complained about 'gank fights', others have always loved them. Different people. 'Reguardless of diffculty', another person thinking fighting multiple enemies is a 'gank fight' that is just too difficult. Let me guess Fulghor is your favorite? Interesting. I would say the summons are way different than Glass knight or Halflight, they are more of a shield that must be disarmed quickly. Being able to madness proc him out of summoning again is interesting. There are answers for all the complaints people have but they just can't get over the 'gank' aspect, why? Because they can't handle it and refuse to build differently or approach it correctly.

Just calling it a 'gank' implies that what they are doing is unfair. If it's just a numbers game, that means all the 3v1 bosses we were ganking them! Nonsense. Some part of the fandom has always had a bone to pick at non 1v1 fights, and they swear up and down it's not because they aren't good enough. I don't believe them. It's clear that multiple enemies frustrates people, and rather than get better on a fight that got them, they would rather say 'I guess the people who like it are "Hidden closet masochists".
