As it happens, I had to excavate the gems first and THEN finish mining the rock. Not the other way around. If only the germs are left, it doesn't count for some reason.

I just went
Secure Boot- UEFI (Windows)
Secure Boot Mode - Custom (it was already on custom so i didnt want to risk changing it to standard)
Saved and restarted and it fired right back up no issues.

This means you already had the right partition scheme. It is not that simple of a change for everyone. If the disk is not already the right partition scheme, it would be a bad idea to convert without making a backup.

Changing your partition to the right format is incredibly easy. It's rebooting windows into command prompt, running 1 command line to make sure your drive is compatible and another to convert your drive.

Then you wait until it's done. For me it was almost instant. And that's it. Now you're ready to enable Secure Boot.

How would I know this? I did it yesterday and helped a friend do it too.
