What is the gameplay like most of the time? What do you do other then building?
I read about the RPG and RTS components, but can you actually give some examples as to what makes it RPG and RTS?
Outside of building in the designer, there are the adventure and campaign modes - both of which can be played coop in multiplayer, though multiplayer can be unstable at times.

In adventure mode, you navigate portals above an endless ocean. These portals lead to higher and lower levels of an abstracted difficulty, which controls the types of blueprints which dynamically spawn in as enemies. You're basically freeroaming the high seas while surviving unscripted attacks from built-in designs, while building up your own ship. Adventure mode can also be beaten with a fleet rather than a single ship. Nowadays there is also an adventure mode for the land-based tank setting.

In campaign mode, you harvest resources from nodes on a large world map and use those resources to build your designs, which you then use to take over the world. This world is inhabited by a bunch of other factions who each have a specialised design niche you will have to build to counter. Most of your campaign time will be spent peering at the map and some logistical meters for your units, interspiced with brief but fierce battles as your forces clash with those of your enemies.

The RPG aspects of the game are a legacy feature which sadly got axed years ago during development. Killing enemies and picking up the salvage of their corpses would yield XP. XP would yield levels. Per level you could invest a point into the potency of a specific system, like lasers, engines, armour and the like. This allowed a player to further specialise their fleet, or have a better chance at the highest difficulties.
i think they should have kept the rpg mechanics but have them start from zero and evolve over individual campaigns rather than the overall progression thing they were trying to do. essentially i mean xp tied to each campaign/adventures save file

Ive always been interested in why people jump on here saying its a bad game... why tf did you pull up this games forums xD

If its that bad then why are you here in the first place. I personally hate apex legends... I also don't have the urge to waste my time going through the forums hating on the game.

because I own the game, youtube brought up a video about apparent new drama or happenings in eso, I came here to see what happened, saw this thread, posted my experience and opinion.

I hate the games design, but I liked actually playing it before the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ braindead design got in the way, bethesda usually makes a story that's fun to play, but horrific to replay.

no play gw2 wow ff14 or even osrs. it can take over a hour in na to pop a random dungeon daily.

i don't have a clue how anyone could recommend wow over this im returning from wow myself and it is a complete mess to try to get into if you haven't been playing it all this time, the world is nothing like it was in vanilla basic things like going from org to UC require a google search. The world doesn't level with you like in ESO so once you hit cap if you want to achievement hunt your gona spend thousands of hours 1 hitting enemies going through old quests/content. the economy is some of the worse iv seen in a mmo on certain servers people with literally 1 billion gold and a newcomer is making a couple thousand a day... The only way id recommend wow to anyone who hasnt been playing it for years is to play vanilla but that is a hard sell compared to modern mmos for a lot of people

eso doesnt level with you, every enemy is level 50 160cp and every level you get till hit that makes you weaker, you spend upwards a week of in game play time struggling to keep your head above water.

wow has its own braindead problem of 'oh no we made people too strong what do' and instead of tying the power they got to an expansion where you can only use said power in expansion content, they scaled level down and ripped the power away, this sees people level too fast so they have gear with stats in the 10's-20's by the time they hit I think level cap and move over to a more current expansion where the first piece of gear will have stats in the hundreds if not thousand range.

guild wars 2 planed for this crap from the get go, however they also dont give you more power so playing to get stronger is a hard sell in that game

everquest just fixes it next expansion if something is broke, so you have level ranges where you are wildly too powerful or feel like the devs hate you with how weak you are.

this game manage to have the worst system ever put in an rpg let alone mmo, and as bad as the wow auction house is, jesus christ is eso so much worse
