if a update was in the works why not make a post telling us on steam like every other gaming company in history does instead of the zero info they give

Because there is NOTHING TO SAY as has been pointed out DOZENS of time to the usual suspects without a damned clue how EA works let alone beta testing.

FYI Kunos has 35 staff that's it. You want them to pull a developer working on the game to answer your inane questions and FURTHER delay it?

As for it the game being dead?
Go look at SteamDB charts at AC which bumbled along for a YEAR during Early Access. With player numbers just under 1000 and had two spikes of 2800 in May 2014 and 4250 in October 2014 it spiked just after launch with 6954 in March 2015 then fell back to around 2000 and took the next 6 YEARS for it to beat that peak but now routinely breaks 15,000 peak players. It's now the highest rated racing game on steam.
92.64% positive player ratings.

Then take ACC which got CRUCIFIED in it's EA with a host of problems which didn't get fully resolved till around 18 months after launch.
That launched to 4098 players dropped off to as low as 302 before release where it hit 4199 peak players then tanked again till the end of 2020 when the major bugs finally got fixed, it then beat it's previous record July 2020 hitting 5593 then beat it's PB 6 times in the intervening years and currently has peaks around 5,000 players daily, the second highest rated game on Steam.
92.54% positive.

AMS2 likewise bumbled along during it's EA with just 31 players on launch day peaked to 1105 before it's release and continued struggling to hit 1000 players for almost two and a half years, finally beating it's PB in August 2022 with 1306, since when it too has beaten it's PB 3 times since then and player numbers have increased by a factor of 3 since then,
3rd highest rated racing game on Steam.
91.45% positive ratings.

Now lets glance at games that launched in a "finished state" with NO EA period and NO public testing shall we?

Grid 2019 from Codemasters who at the time it launched had around 800+ staff globally and 120 working on this game alone...
With highly active moderators on both codies forums and in the steam discussions promising the greatest grid game ever on an almost daily basis.
Fans had SERIOUS misgivings about the graphics being woefully bad even MONTHS before launch, so they delayed it a full month aaaaand fixed bugger all of the issues raised.
Launch day numbers were a mere 1038 and was SO badly received it literally went on sale less than a month after launch and was only ever full price for the grand total of 78 days.
So many bugs they claimed to fix but didn't or they actually made them WORSE.
Fans were outraged yet we got told "Manage your expectations" despite the same person telling us the game would be the best in the series AHAHAHAHAaaaaaa throughout all the pre-launch hype and lies.
Then they kept saying "No pl;ans to fix XXX bug but we'll consider it for future titles.."
Player numbers tanked so hard even the nigh on permanent sales didn't help nor did packaging it in things like the humble bundle where you'd get 4 or 5 games for a tenner didn't help not ONCE did it even get CLOSE to matching let alone beating it's launch day peak.
The original Grid sold around 20 million copies, PLUS won the Best SPORTS game award at that years BAFTA game awards beating Fifa PES and madden NFL ftw. the re-imagined POS???? 238,000 - 1,230,000 copies sold. iirc the player ratings were between 35 and 40% for the first 18 months of it's existence and only rose to where they are now just before they killed it off entirely, why because it was being sold for less than 2 quid in the humble bundle yet launch price for the full game was £69.99.
Oh and they resorted to BEGGING for votes ,from the people they chose to ban from their forums for pointing out the games flaws, in the BAFTA awards for "Best game innovation" for the games Nemesis feature.
A feature which ACTUALLY first appeared in the series a full 5 YEARS previously in Grid Aurosport, there it was a silent feature designed to promote clean driving.
The AI would drive with respect if you did, should yo hit an AI car too hard or too often they'd be gunning for you!
In Grid 2019 it was full off NEMESIS banners and turned a feature promoting clean driving into "Who can get the most nemesis AI drivers in a race?"
Suffice to say Grid didn't win ANYTHING other than the rigged steam best racing game award that year. Nintendo Labo won that innovation award instead...

Grid Legends? Even worse that it's predecessor.
Launched in Feb 2022 to a grand total of 455 players, it too fell off a cliff and never recovered nor did it EVER match it's launch day numbers.
This POS launched with exactly the same damned bugs as Grid 2019 and COULD have been a DLC for that game instead.
Estimated sales of just 102,000-331,600 and it struggled to get above 200 peak players daily only once did it break 300 players...
https://steamdb.info/app/1307710/charts/#max

Forza Mototsport? T10 had over 200 permanent staff and 300+ contractors and got 4703 players on launch day.
Hyped to the gills by the Forza Monthlies, barely a DAY went by without some snippet of "look how GREAT it looks" yet, not ONCE did we see PC gameplay only consoles, promises of "full support on all PC's from bargain basement to ultra enthusiast PC's from day one" plus "Full support on Ultrawide and super ultrawide screens from day 1."
Launched with over 200 recognised bugs, horrendous PC support, permanently blurred graphics on ultrawide or super ultrawide panels.
Months of patches that added more bugs than they fixed plus FOMO content to DESPERATELY try an retain players, it didn't work...
In less than 2 MONTHS it lost 80% of it's player base, by the 6 month mark it had then lost 84% of it's playerbase, never again did it get even 1400 players, other than a free weekend which did naff all to help other than a spike to 3282.
Now it struggles to hit over 1000 and the trend is downwards from almost 1000 average to just around 500 in the last month alone.
48.76% positive on steam and just 54% on MS store...

These last 3 games were FINISHED launch day titles yet look at the results above companies with previously STELLAR reputiations brought to their KNEES by greed and refusals to fix their broke assed titles..
And the fallout of these 3 games?
Codies sold out to EA who've now abandoned everything other than the F1 series, lost the WRC license after the 1st title under EA's banner and closed the studio, F1 license due for review in 2027 and it looks like they'll lose that too.
EA's deal was so bad for them they've tried selling or merging with Amazon Apple Disney and other to get told to "GET TAE F**F!" repeatedly, I wonder why THAT is, Oh yeah EA's track record of broken games and failure to retain players.
T10? Just lost HALF it's permanent staff among the 9000 fired by MS in the last fen weeks and absolute SILENCE on future plans for the game or the series future...

So which do you prefer?
A tiny, deeply passionate, silent developer with everyone working hard on their title or BEHEMOTH studios lying through their teeth, fleecing you for every penny they can get and then abandoning titles ASAP in favour of stripping the contents of your wallet every 2 years or so?
Take your pick...

You think they care? The people complaining here don't want good games. They forget the next day everything and move on like children chasing the next cookie. What they want is a daycare center where the devs sit around and post all day long promises and wishful thinking. Then when a game tanks they move on silently.

Those that want an actually good game are ware of what they are in for, an Early Access. They are dropping by every update to give feedback, then off with their lives until next update. They don't sit around and whine and cry and complain and ask attention from the devs like they are truly alone in a basement and just want to chit chat. LOL.

Despite all that the game is still overall 69% of the reviews being positive. And many are not recommending because its too early in their opinion and they will come back later and most likely change their review as well, that is all.

Among the negative scores are the haters too. Possibly that 5% that hated AC for no reason at all. LOL.

Kunos has delivered in the past, and they have ALREADY delivered one of the most solid sim physics engines on the market. In many ways better than most out there by a margin. All with AAA top quality visuals. They are starting from a very solid base. The chances of them not pulling this game through to even greater heights than previous titles is small.

Learning from past mistakes, and innovating. Like handing over the Multiplayer league stuff to SimGrid to handle so their already small team can focus on other things.

There are a LOT of things they are doing much more correctly this time around. And if a patch is delayed because of this to make sure it drops in the best condition it can be, then so be it. And it will STILL have bugs, for sure, and that is to be expected with 99% of the patches on any game, EA or full release.

You think these people care about all this? Ofc not. If they did they would have already put 2 and 2 together by now, especially with all the responses they have gotten thus far.
