Having only 6 ‘masteries, unless they come in DLC, means we won’t get every TQ1 mastery which I thought was a goal of the team. Another potential misstep in my opinion.

Grim dawn started with 6, and ended up with 9, but now 10.
TQ1 started with 8 and ended up with 10.

2 more masteries is fine. What we need is for missing elements.
- Summons
- Weapon attack procs.
- AOE placed pseudo summons.

For the 2 more masteries, we need a summon based one, and a spirit based one.

I'd also like to see a vitality AOE somewhere. Maybe the next tier of rogue can have it.

By a lot of thief games you mean Thief I and II? Because there are hardly any stealth games that come close to the first 2 games. That's the first unique thing about Gloomwood.

Other than that, Gloomwood is a survival horror with open metroidvania inspired level design. The save system consists of save points scattered around the area, so you can't F5 F9 your way out of any bad situation, you have to use your resources and improvise or you're most likely dead. Compare to any other stealth or immersive sim game, that's quite rare to see.

Gloomwood also improves on other stealth mechanics and systems that not many other games have (e.g. enemies react to the light being turned off, they can hear you slamming doors, etc.).

Fun fact: When it came out there were no ports that fully supported the updated versions of doom 1+2. Same applies to quake. Both now work fine in other ports.
