The game is as hard as you make it though. There's a whole section just for how difficult the zombies are, for example. You can set exactly what it is that makes the zombies hard or easy, down to how hard they hit, how hard you hit them, how fast they are, how far away they can spot you, how fast they are and how dangerous surprise attacks from behind is.
And much, much more.

You're not forced to play the Apocalypse scenario, even though it is the pre-set choice. You're allowed to go down in difficulty :)

if talking about the color of the star icon for quality that's from the premium psuedo you unlock by rank later on.

if color of shards, it's just based on how you mix it.

I remember those wayyyyyy back in the 2000s for RTW. Rome Total Realism and a few others had implemented it.

There was a separate Latin Voice Mod for RTW. I can find search results from 2005 for it but the links they refer to are no good.
