1. Servers aren't big enough and population should be increased to force more interaction and foster sense of community (or at lest lesson the solo-RPG nature of what's on offer).

2. Reasons/motivations/rewards to interact with other players are almost non-existent.

3. COOPERATIVE gameplay is absent for the most part, other than forming gank gangs. And yes, cooperative gameplay can include competitive elements...doesn't have to all be measured in player kills.

4. "Here's a ton of excellent content" followed by "here's an empty LITERAL sandbox with no content other than gather, gank and repeat" causes a steep drop-off in any feeling of PURPOSE, and therefore motivation, just as a general matter.

5. Devs need to do some soul-searching and realize that they should exploit the game's strengths more in ways that fill in the game's weaknesses. Stubborniy insisting on a vision of how they hoped it would all work or "should" work while ignoring how people actually play the content has contributed to the death of so many MMOs it's ridiculous. Do what works, even if it's not how you expected or wanted it to work. Lean into the strengths to fill solve the weaknesses (see #3 above for example).

1. careful with the word "force", it might start a "consent" debate - more possible incentive for player/player interactions would be nice
2. true, less and less each day, which is unfortunate
3. any group action a guild does seems to get labelled as negative behaviour, even if its against another guild and/or their sandcrawler
4. always took the deep desert as a big "to be continued" sign where people had to create their own fun (hence why it was originally PvP inclined), i miss the thrill and suspense going there....
5. personally think devs should stay true to themselves and not change to suit a players desires, player desires rarely contain much thought beyond surface level, they usually lead to follow-up issues which stagnate development in other areas and alot of the time they remove some aspect from the game rather then build upon whats already there, leading to less potential for the game

just like cult classics - a game doesnt need to be like every other game to be successful and they shouldnt change to become like other games in any capacity - they should focus on their creation and what works for it
