a player (bob) chooses to go to the frontlines (deep desert) and travels to the conflict zone (pvp zone) unarmed (no gun, no sword, no rocket, no means to defend themselves) to harvest spice (which was in hagga basin and PvE zones) - player (bob) then gets killed by another player (charlie)

player (bob) complains they were griefed by another player (charlie)

-------------------------------------------
a guild (alpha) decides to compete with another guild (beta) for a ringmouth spice field harvesting rights, attacking each other on sight, a civilian (bob) goes onto the ringmouth spice field to harvest spice (in a PvP zone instead of the PvE or hagga basin), pew pew pew goes the compactor

the guilds (alpha and beta) fly by and see a ornithopter (knowing its not theirs, assumes its the other guild), rockets rain down and the civilian (bob) dies

player (bob) complains they were just ganked by other players (guilds alpha and beta)

------------------------------------------
a guild (travelling merchants) wants to create more of an economy around rare and high risk resources adding to their trade value within their server/deep desert, the guild (travelling merchants) sets up on an single island (in the PvP zone) that contains rare, high risk resources (titanium and/or stravinium), attacking whoever comes close for a few days while they (travelling merchants are online) or until the coriolis storm reset (new week = new activity/focus, maybe the ringmouth spice blooms next week)

the deep desert chat starts talking about some people/guild (travelling merchants) attacking people on that island to warn others and give a heads up

player (bob) heads out to the island (in the PVP zone, rather then the PvE zone locations) ignoring all warnings in chat and on screen, player (bob) gets hit by rockets upon landing

player (bob) then complains the players (travelling merchants) are gatekeeping resources and griefing/gankers

----------------------------------------------
a guild member (beta) flies by and sees a sandcrawler (bob) harvesting spice at a ringmouth spice field (in a PvP zone) while a carrier (charlie) hovers nearby, assuming its a guild.

the guild member (beta) starts making bombing runs on the sandcrawler (bob), the carrier (charlie) swoops in and picks up the sandcrawler (bob) and heads for safety, the guild member follows firing rockets.

the carrier (charlie) decides to drop the sandcrawler (bob) so they dont lose both to the rockets fired by the guild member (beta), worm gets sandcrawler (bob) and the carrier (charlie) makes it to safety - the guild member (beta) heads back out to PvP zone

player (bob) complains they were just griefed/ganked

------------------------------------------------------
player (bob) complains that they get attacked in the deep desert PvP zone by player (charlie), then makes requests to be attacked by NPC's in the same manner the player (charlie) had attacked them in earlier but was condemned for

------------------------------------------------------
player (bob) gets a mission to go to a shipwreck (PvP zone) within their hagga basin (40 people limit on a maxed out sietch), they decide its forcing them to PvP and dont attempt the mission, even though they dont know if another player is there or not or if they would of experienced any PvP at all

player (bob) complains they were forced and didnt give consent to PvP (despite it being part of the storyline/missions, which is usually considered part of the PvE game loop) implying they will be griefed/ganked/seal clubbed into oblivion

-----------------------------------------------------
player (val) enjoys flying and harvesting in PvP zone for the high risk-high reward resources due to it adding to the atmosphere, suspense and the tension that is arrakis along with the potential interaction with other players (who ever it may be, even if it doesnt happen)

however due to previous complaints that atmosphere, suspense and tension have disappeared from arrakis making gameplay feel empty and soulless without any purpose besides the grind, and left questioning if they should continue playing and finish off the storyline or just move onto another game
The whole problem with that story is that the actual reality is (Charlie) whines when he can not find more (Bobs) anymore because they do not go to the conflict zone.

Gilds (Alpha) and (Beta) can still compete for fields, big fiields are still ont he PVP area.

Players (charli) (val) and alike who likes playing in PVP area can still do so.

Nothing has changed for (Charlie), (Val) (guilds A & B) etc...

So (Charlie) complaints now are because he can not abuse others anymore, even before it was obvious who was farming and who was ready for battle, but (Charlie) was looking for the formers, easy defenseless targets to fell strong and powerfull, or whatever pleasure bashing a defenseless one he gets.

(Bob)'s complaints before could be cabsolutely wrong, he went to a conflict zone and then cry because he was not prepared and could not enjoy, well he ask for a safe area for players like hime and they got it. OK that's great.

(Charlie) complaints now are mean and despicable because the only they have lost is the chance to ruin (bob)'s game experience, even if that was not the original experiience the game was desinged for.

PVP (the fake ones, the bulliie ones, the complaining ones) players has lost NOTHING apart of the enjoyment of griefing others.
