Jobs and traits are extremely underwhelming and need to be further fleshed out.

Underqualified Gunman
The biggest flaws i see in the current job system is that some traits are consider near universal must haves or must avoids. with the majority being a boring flat increase or decrease to stats.

first i'll look at what should jobs vs traits do. jobs should enhance ones position in the role they want to fill. so first aid and healing/ helping other player should be enhanced by the medical job. traits should be the seasoning that goes on top of that role. so a dr who is good at healing but is bad at stealth and has a the bad luck of knocking over rocks, stepping on branches, and farting loudly all of which at least make the nearby enemies look in that direction or out right gaining their attention.
also traits as they are currently have some things that should be built into certain jobs. stuff like cooking or decathalon competetior. instead you could make it so decathalon competitor makes it so the longer you are sprinting the higher the speed bonus you gain.
for weathered you give it the bonus of making it so sleeping in cots is considered comfortable instead of tolerable.

my first suggestion with traits is you could spice it up by making them do more interesting things.
painfully obvious could make it so when your near items on the ground you have a chance to bump them and make a sound event, fart, kick a rock, or just the classic stepping on a twig.
fear of violence should be adjusted so that it is less of a noob trap. and more of a gimmick/jester role. make it so if your in combat with an enemy you have a chance of performing panicked screaming mid combat and making it so it attracts a wider range of enemies, you could also make it so when your fighting something you have chance to poop mid combat if your bathroom meter is above half. an additional thematic penalty is making it so after getting damaged by an enemy your ability to aim is reduced until your panicked state wears off.
An alternate idea is to make it so the panic builds based on enemies who have recently seen/chased you and it slowly decreases until you rest in a bed where it gets removed significantly faster. if your panic gets to the critical level then you start screaming doing other goofball things.

weak bladder could make it so that you have a shorter timer to poop yourself with some randomization sometimes it's 10 second and other times it's 45 seconds.

night owl could give you a speed boost at night

One new trait could be a trait where eating prepared foods has a low chance of giving you a medical event such as broken legs, bleeding, vomiting, or pooping on the floor.
a new positive trait could be to give junk food/sodas a higher food value and items made with them and a extra speed boost to the player when consumed temporarily.

for job traits you could make it so the chef job gives extra cooking XP but also a chance to double cookware found in the world or that is crafted. in addition you can make it so they have chance (that improves with the cooking level) of not using a food when putting it in a soup pot or crafting a recipie in the chef station, or a chance for bonus fish meat drops when butchering fish.

for the defense analyst make it so they have access to keypads like the one for warrens office, the security office, and the office overlooking the elevator to office level 3.
this wouldn't grant access to the keypad to flathill though.
guns would have reduced level required for him to be confident with them but he would still need biometric arm wraps
the contruction job could have a built in slot for a screwdriver and hammer allowing them to hold interact to build items and holding interact to repair things. and give them a built in chance to get a double furniture event.

for the first aid job make it so they have a built speed increase for using first aid items and can build wall mounted first aid stations that act like healing briefcases but can be built on a wall and can automatiiclly use bandages and splints on you when in it area of effect if it is stocked. it would require power but would have it's own power reserve.
this job also gets a built in slot for a gieger counter and can look at others if they have the trinket to see their radiation.

for the trans kinematic researcher you could give the passive bonus of making it so he levels strength even when in the red. this scientist has a strongness meter that gives you extra damage when strong, normal damamge when your meduim, and less damage when weak. if this job is over encumbered, or fighting enemies you build strength but loose it if you are not. pushing a platform cart would also build strength if it is over half full. he also gets a weight training station that he can use to gain strength XP and refill his strength meter to become strong. note the bonus damage doesn't effect guns but does effect throwing. as a downside this job makes you very hungry and being super strong causes increased hunger drain.

for the gardener you could make it so they are able to craft a tier higher of garden beds so they are able to craft a 4 plot bed instead 1 in offices and a 8 plot once you get to manufacturing and the 3rd new bed type is a bed that integrates a barrel of water with a filter. additionally they would have a chance to harvest extra crops and can make a compost bin that turns rot into soil bags/improved soil bags that improves the speed of crop growth. they can put different things in it and get more compost than normal players would be able to by crafting.

thowing job
you get extra throwing weapons when crafting, when learning a new recipe you can get a chance to craft your first item with a reduced cost. when holding stackable anomalies purple dust for example you have a chance to avoid damage at the risk of destroyingthat item. doesn't apply to non stackable items like the double barrel shotgun, gravity cuber or skink.

lab assistant when using a one handed sharp weapon you have a chance of dealing extra damage to the back is increased. additionally attacks from stealth ignore enemy armor.
when crouched you have a chance to ignore large amounts of damage. gets increased speed from drinking coffee.

these are just some ideas i have but hopefully these provide some insight in how you might change the jobs.
