After the ferry boat while playing at coop they game kicked my teammate off saying he hadnt unlocked the area. Now we can't play together.

In addition the chest gives you upgraded loot there for both teammates, indicating they knew 2 players had gotten there.

Since they cant play the second area I guess we are just done playing.

you cant use the bike in many missions like infiltration and special operations
pretty sure it doesnt work in void vessel either
