But the more important thing is, I noticed that greenery gradually changes in size over time. Given that the trees we chop disappear forever, do trees dynamically grow back, or is there a possibility that we could clear the map?

Or worse - could we screw ourselves over by intentionally exhausting local resources of every kind by doing it ourselves?

但穿满5件套后，效果不升反降，不召唤蘑菇了，改招两个章鱼怪，输出直接大幅度下降，并且章鱼怪进攻欲望极低，甚至会出现不攻击的现象。

From what I've heard Act 3 is barren. Looking at the fact that we now know that the next big patch at the end of this month will improve it in some way or form: Yeah, you might wanna pause at the end of Act 2 :-)

I can affirm this. If you do every side quest and explore every possible area you'll be so over powered that all combat just seems trivial. I went 2 handed sword and heavy armor. I got to act 3 around level 60. I wasn't trying to farm. I just did everything possible to do. That needs to be balanced out. I literally one shot everything including boss/elite monsters. The power gain verses the environment is just way off. Other than that, from a story perspective I just lost interest in Act 3. It just seemed like giant walls of text from everyone I talked to trying to force a bunch of history to the player to tell them why this place is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, but it just falls short. Visually it looks like its barren. I haven't played this game in in a few days if that tells you something. It definitely falls off in Act 3.

I can also confirm the OP situation. i forced myself to not upgrade any equipment as to let the game be more of a challenge. Still, i have a crit build that just obliterates the world when i sneeze XD.
Was kind of hoping Act 3 would present more of a challenge but i might instead pause for a bit.

I believe this game has the potential to become a true classic whith a bit more effort, some DLC and maybe one of those "definitive editions" further down the line.

Bastion of Valor is a delightful surprise. From the moment I started as a humble villager, I was hooked by the game's immersive progression and thoughtful mechanics. The freedom to build and shape your village exactly how you want is incredibly satisfying, and the attention to detail in managing your villagers' happiness adds a meaningful layer of strategy.

Sorry if this is a stupid idea, but have you guys tried disconnecting from the Internet in the middle of the game? If it continues to work, then you know the AI is running locally. Otherwise, it is very likely online.

By all means, feel free to play any way you wish! But, to answer your question:

- While Espers are the easiest race, they take the most grinding of all, and stat gains are semi-randomized, so it's not always easy to get an Esper going in the way that you want.

- Other races don't take nearly as much time to make powerful; Humans and Robots get stronger with money, so they have more notable and sudden power spikes. Monsters require some grinding, but nowhere near the amount needed for Espers.

- Esper stat gains slow over time. Without explaining the exact methodology, the game looks at your Espers stats compared to the strength of the enemies you're fighting as one way to determine whether you'll get a mutation. Once your stats are high enough, the mutations should slow down considerably.

- There are some types of abilities that Espers can't access, e.g Robot parts that have combat utility, and Monster abilities, which are the only race with easy access to most status ailment magic, combat buffs, debuffs, etc.

- Finally, if you play on Fixed Mode, there are only a finite number of battles, so you can't grind them until their stats are as high as possible.

That said, if you enjoy the all Esper team, go for it! Thanks for enjoying the game.
