A horse will have too much sense. Coldgames loves three things:

-Free assets, that money from the shop for "further support" is for him, not to spend in the game
-Least work possible. Do not ask him to work in his full time dedication job "passion project" not even testing (Thats Virago part and he will not do it either)

The studio is in a very bad shape since the release of Nightingale. They expected to sell 2 millions copies on the first month and they only achieved 20% of that goal. And most of the players where very disapointed by a game that was obviously released too early.

Many future additions to the game have been abandoned, and third of the employee were fired.

Devs spent several months just after release making an offline mode because of some very loud people who don't play the game anymore, and they accidentally took the whole playerbase offline along with them.

The studio took a cascade of bad decisions and failed to reverse the trend.
Bad convoluted designs, unclear hybrid LiteMMO/crafting genre, gaming loop perceived as boring and time consuming, a pretentious economic forecast considering crafting/survival game is a niche and amputation of development teams during the first months.

So no. The fail of Nigthingale is not due to complaints about offline. This is only the last nail that sealed the coffin.
