is it just me, or the new one kinda doesn't fit as well as the old one?

Tried it once to see what it does, and literally every magic material, infestation and landmark (even bronze ones) have tier 4 and 5 guardians from the start. How do you guys deal with this? Just leave everything until you're strong enough?

Early game, just clear resource nodes, though if you're willing to manual combat you should be able to clear bronze stuff by turn 10 or so.

Makes sense to me. It's basically the same reason a lot of non-furries are against gender-locking in every other game. With the furries, you slap on a whole extra layer to it and you got both gender-locking AND animal-locking.

The main reason it's done (besides saving time and money) is because customizable characters generally lack soul. They're just there as avatars for the player, so their own ability to have lives or opinions is muted. With a preset character, it's much easier to tell a real story for that character and make them distinct.

The... character actually has to be distinct, though. Sometimes there's really nothing there besides the visual design. In a game like this, where the targeted playerbase really has very few games to create versions of themselves in, it really seems like customizable models would have been a better idea.

Did you ever find a fix for it? My PC is hard crashing as well whenever I play this game (10-15 seconds after waking up). I've tried new drivers and old but it still crashes my PC. I've got a GTX 980 (it could be failing too, I suppose).

So these features were silently updated into the game now, perhaps from AMD's initiative which could explain the recent Gameguard issues with Adrenalin.

From ~90-110 fps ~8-11 ms frame latency during missions (9070 XT, 9800X3D, UWQHD native, ultra settings, undervolting and overclocking involved) to 210-230 with fake frames and anti-lag on (~5 ms), not bad at all if you can tolerate some visual jank and feeling but it's a lot smoother overall.

That said FSR 4 with a 1080p upscaling is looking ATROCIOUS, maybe worse than the game's own upscaling solution. It's both blurry and pixelated asf, it's not ready or well implemented for this game imo but it could be my own skill issue with the settings.

I went back to native resolution because the visuals were that broken.

yeah. And people say one of two things 'you can do world tour mode' or ' you can pay for it.'
Never mind the fact that you can pay for it already tells us that world tour mode was not meant to be fun.

And then theres the 3rd group who says it doesn't matter. But fighting the same character WITH THE SAME COLOR drives fatigue real fast.
