I hope we get to see some more in-game previews. The little we have seen makes it hard to tell if it is really fun- but was visually stunning.

My current conception is it will be another sandbox type game. I was sold on exploring systems and planets but not so sure trudging over one world, even if it is massive, is going to be that exciting.

How they handle biome transitions, reasons/rewards for exploring, and whatever threats are out there will be key features. If it is more a pure survival game- like the start of The Planet Crafter- not sure that will rock my world. Made it past the rough part in that game, but a lot of cursing along the way. If survival is more nuanced so you can go easy, medium, hardcore- maybe. Really not a survival mode fan- more of a tourist.

This game might not have fancy terrains or graphics but that's not what people play for. They play for the fun physics system, the fact that you can traverse the solar system using rocketry. If you want fancy terrains, buy KSP1 and download mods, KSP2 is fine aswell, but it's been abandoned, still playable tho

clearly you don't play resident evil games at all if you don't know saving is done in save rooms via typewriter

What you encountered is what happens when you leave your team behind but in your case it probably glitched out
