I think you are referring to the survival levels in persius mandate. EP is the real direct sequel to fear1 and absolutely epic in everyway.

Survival levels? Whatever I was thinking about, it was just fights within normal levels, but not fights where you just kill everyone and move on, but the enemies keep coming for a while. I think they reminded me of those weird sections in Half-Life 2 where you get to place turrets and have to defend an area for a while. Maybe you get mines or something also, my memory is hazy.
