i experience this all the time, mainly bcs its a unity game and unity games are cpu and gpu heavy no matter what game it is it will eat up all of your specs the best way to play is with literally everything closed or minimized

I did find a workaround for this.

Was stuck with the Splash Screen logo for nearly 15 minutes before the game decided to finally start slowly.

What did the trick was disabling Hyperthreading in BIOS.

Now the game loads in seconds again.

I usually play a good guy or at least as good as I could and not steal, but with how the devs nerfed hunting, I might as well just steal for money as an alternative to doing contracts. I like finding alternative ways to play a game because just doing one thing is boring. Like example, the reason stardew valley is fun for me is that even though it's a farming game, you can do other things for money instead of just farm stuff like growing crops and raising farm animals. Instead, you are able to do stuff like mining to make good money selling gems and metals. You can mainly do fishing and sell fish for good money. You can also make decent money from foraging and selling what you forage that day, selling wood (not good money but its something and consistent), grow fruit trees and wait for fruit to grow where you harvest and sell fruit. Stoneshard used to be like this where you had more than one way to make money, but now its going more and more in the direction of your main way to only make money is contracts and sell high value loot like silverware/gems/jewelry. No selling junk, no selling damaged weapons (which is commonly damaged when dropped), hunting is harder because magic is nerfed with the sound mechanic so you need to invest in take aim and use a bow/crossbow and then also need butcher for a "chance" to drop fur and if you want a better chance you need the abliity after that one but then sacrificing combat focused skill so it's gonna make combat a lot harder if you take it early. So I rather just do stealing with all the nerfs to alternative ways to make money, since stealing you dont need any focus in any skill or attribute so you can focus on your build while stealing and making lots of money on the side.

Here the most optimal way to stab Buggs and subsequently get the Monstermon card. Do Ms. Applegate’s mission, but when you ask Jerome if he stole a hall pass, don’t give him the yo-yo right away. Instead, tell Ms. Applegate that Jerome wants something cool, and then she’ll let you snoop around in the cubbies. This is where you grab the knife. Then, continue with her mission as normal, but instead of showing Buggs the poisoned nugget at lunch, stab him. Then, once you’re in the hall after giving the lunch lady Monty’s glasses, you can get the Monstermon card in Bugg’s stash! (You can even still do the rest of the mission after collecting it!)

maybe if you actually play the game, you may realize it barely change anything when the ttk is so freaking fast, we move like snail, and the map is barren waste land.
