me and my friends had an issue in the kiln where someone shot a chain gun when someone was in front of it, and it shot the person with the gun along with the chain. the person who got shot ended up with a black screen with a ton of debuffs, and when this happened it glitched the game for everyone else. people lost the ability to see each other, along with a bunch of other visual/audio glitches (sky and lava turned black, people were only able to hear some ghosts, and notably the flares did not appear for the people who got to the peak, although they were visible to ghosts)

Ok, so it's not just me

If you are not familiar with the term "Honey Pot" in cybersecurity, Google that real quick before proceeding:

If I were in charge of Anti-cheat development for an FPS game like Battlefield, I would release a free-to-play beta weekend(s) and let the honeypot do its work. I would quietly collect the account information and hardware IDs of cheaters and cheat developers, and then conduct a large ban wave right before the full release.

I was playing the new Mesa Biome with a group of 3, and honestly? It feels bad, out and out bad.

The sun burning you outside of the shade is fine, it's manageable, and is somewhat similar to the alpine hazard in scope, though the sunscreen feels kinda pathetic in usage, as it mists out a cloud but it's impossible to cover more than one person.

The Ant-lion is too punishing, flat out impossible for me to escape from or be rescued from. It's a fine surprise in theory, but the first attack knocked me out, and didn't knock me *out* of the pit, leaving me completely boned. One party member managed to attach a piton to the edge of the pit, but it was zero help, and the other was knocked out by the ant-lion in an attempt to help, once again in just one bite, to people who were full health. It's genuinely equivalent damage to falling off the whole mountain.

The tumbleweeds seem.. sinister, like they could easily impact us and knock us into other hazards.
The sandstorm is pretty much constantly punishing you, which really sucks because the first time didn't seem so bad, and then the next, but the third time in a matter of moments flung the remaining party members into a cactus, instantly knocking them out from thorns, which are difficult to remove.

On that final note, they really are way too rough on you, especially due to the food being on top of them, and potentially full of thorns.

All in all, this whole mesa experience occurred within the first 100 metres from the campfire or so, which really just feels awful. Compared to the alpine biome, which this is supposed to match in difficulty? It doesn't. It sucks. My little group enjoyed PEAK for being a relatively chilled out experience. It isn't that anymore, especially with other changes made that i've yet to encounter, i.e the kiln.

Again, we did enjoy the game prior to the update, but if these are the changes that are going to be being made, it's really not the game we thought it was.

When Battlefield comes out, everybody's deleting this game.
