I heard no small amount of complains that it doesn't have the "basic" or "bare minimum" compare to sim2 or sim3 base game or something like that.
And that you should just play sim 3 instead.

Didn't follow it closely back then tho.
I kinda let the sim4 build itself up for a LONG time before switching to it.


And while some might considered DLC as optional thing.
Other might see it as a missing pieces, an improvement, needed for a full experience.

But when thing are as basic as having baby or having a pool in a life sim game.
(That your precursor have in the base game itself)
Are somehow an "optional" content.
You will have to forgive people for not remembering it as a full and complete experience.


Back to the OP topic tho.
I still think this isn't gift out of the kindness of anyone heart.

(But now that I think about it, this is actually pretty smart.
Instead of having in game toggle that will eat your SSD space eitherway
This method allow you to never having to waste SSD space on DLC you didn't want in the first place, very cool.
As long as it doesn't start costing money after this game leaving EA ofcourse...)
