For me it is the opposite. I have played AoE II: DE a lot recently, but have not played AoE IV for quite a while. The biggest noticeable difference besides the higher RAM requirement to play AoE IV is while its multiplayer is supposed to be good it is also at the same time severely lacking when it comes single player content and civilizations. The latter of which is also because of civilization variants that are not actual new civs. Just similar to other civilizations that already exist on AoE IV.

As you posted some pretty harsh accusations in the OP it would only be fair to correct them that way.

Unlike most other developers Egosoft provides a native Linux client for their game which naturally works a lot better on the SteamDeck (as it is using Linux as Operating System).

Also, for the record - and as people confuse the Steam validation thing with unrelated points like "top notch performance" and the like: Steam is handing out that batch on their own (already mentioned by SiliconStew), so it is not the game developer / Egosoft and it does only involve these aspects:

In my last match when playing as the eldar, the avatar of khaine got stuck on a ramp outside my base along with two wraithlords. I think larger units like them, tomb spiders and dreadnoughts are more prone to this bug of clipping into and getting stuck on corners.

Hopefully it is something they will address in an upcoming patch.
