Wendy's is horrible in my town. They serve barely adequate food and their potatoes are atrocious. Worse, the restaurant seems to steal Credit Card numbers and engage in other forms of fraud. It defines the bottom of the barrel.
dont know man, wendy best food is their french fries, rest are meh, i prefer harveys and aew burger

Wendy's fries went down hill when they starting shooting for "crispy". I preferred the softer more potato-y original "skin-on" fries.

The U.S. price hike is supposed to go into effect on the 21st. It's the 20th in the U.S.A. Check again tomorrow.

Well bad decision for them. Their consumers didnt make these laws. Equal tariffs arent a horrible thing. Taking out their political hissy fits on their customers will lead them down the same path as the rest that did, like these game developers that were once great titles.
Pseudo on topic, I guess.

After the $90 sticker price on Star Wars: Jedi Survivor at release, I began to re-evaluate the cost equation for such games. For modern AAA titles I'm not sure that $90 is objectively a bad thing, but I do demand that premium pricing begets a connotation of premium optimization, not strictly premium graphics. I relegate fancy graphics as "cheap" in the late Unreal Engine 4, and Unreal Engine 5 era (Nanite? vs labor intensive LODs?).

I don't see hardware necessarily getting cheaper, and in a sense I'm kind of arguing for more expensive hardware in the hopes of merely closing a wage gap to restore purchasing power.

it's likely in a bid to ensure that they're still getting a steady stream of customers. No customers means no profit, and the whole house of cards collapses. Lowering prices marginally is more sensible than just letting their lettuce and tomatoes rot, or their buns get moldy.

We're all in this together. Does McDonald's lettuce rot, or do we pull our economy back and right the ship together?

Lowering prices is not what I think is going to right the ship.

Everybody wants deflation right now...
Does "everybody" want deflation? Do people even understand what they want? Is deflation even the optimal solution?

I don't want deflation, primarily because I don't see it as viable. More inflation can lead to dropping smaller units from the currency to facilitate freeing compute resources, potentially improving stock trade performance while reducing demand on the energy grid.

More importantly, I see "inflation" as a means of "deflating" automobile prices. I see "deflation" as "inflating" automobile prices.

Wages go up, automobile prices come down. Wages go down, automobile prices go up. McDonald's goes up, cars go down, economy booms. McDonald's goes down, cars go up, lettuce rots.

If we hear of layoffs or wage cuts of crewmembers, then maybe I can sympathize with the notion that prices shouldn't come back down. If it's just coming out of the pockets of investors or execs though, then I think McDonalds is doing the right thing.

If wages remain depressed, because workers are less inclined to negotiate for higher wages, because dropping burger prices give a false sense of security regarding deflationary market moves, can McDonald's continue as they have been until the economy collapses from wage stagnation?

How many people must fall into oblivion before the market corrects itself? We're already concerned about meeting the needs of Social Security retirement costs with a declining birth rate.

If McDonald's raises prices, the market may correct itself to higher wages. McDonald's may have to layoff crewmembers, until the market reacquires its equilibrium. Higher wages means inflation, which means more purchasing power towards incentivizing market shifts of auto manufacturing. Henry Ford's paying his employee's enough to afford his own vehicles. Social Security is better funded as the working class "income/FICA tax" contributions better aligns with the market. McDonald's demand picks back up, and they can then rehire in a more secure economy where their lettuce won't rot.
