Don't be afraid of the number of mods; just find ones that work well together. As long as they can all be used together, having dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of them is no problem. The only real "issue" with such a large number of mods is whether your computer has enough RAM to ensure smooth gameplay without crashes. Secondly, whether your hard drive is large enough to accommodate such a large number of mods (some mod, just a single can be nearly 2GB , like Lifestyle Hobbies). That's all.

I was playing the BF VI beta, and I don’t think it will kill DF, since they’re completely different games.

BF VI is an immersive game aiming for a “real war” experience, which is fine for some people, but for other players like me, it’s not something that really matters, since some of us are looking for a more fast-paced kind of gameplay.

Of course, visually BF VI is spectacular, but that’s the bare minimum you can expect from a $70 game.

The gameplay experiences are very different. As I mentioned before, fans of BF and that type of experience will be thrilled, especially with its gameplay.

Now, if you want to go wild, DF is one of a kind.

There’s something for everyone.

I think the only one who should be nervous is COD.

I don't know your elo or experience, but I suspect you do better just because you learned to play better, or maybe the Russians are better for your playstyle ?

Mhh no. I play US a lot and now they are certainly weaker.
